Wow. Long time, no see Y!Gallery. How've you all been?

i thought i should say a little bit about what forced my hand into hiatus, and the prospects for the future, as they are now.

The job that i had had last year fell through. It, unfortunately, caused me to lose my apartment, my car, and the life i'd created for myself as an independent adult. i've been forced to return to a life of dependency and a series of temporary jobs. i've been fortunate to find one that pays fairly decently and has a prospect for a permanent position.

i'm still a couch surfer and a pedestrian and public transit permanent fixture, but i'm okay with that.

It's given me a new perspective on life, and unfortunately, it's given others a chance and a frequent opportunity to criticize me. And while that's aggravating, it's a reality i face living on the kindness of others. The constant critque though has left me short tempered and easily angered, so if you're subjected to my temper, i apologize before hand.

i've used the hiatus to write (and it's been long stories- 10,000+ words generally) and explore original writing. Mostly femslash, so they won't be shared here. But, i'll link when i get them online.

For now, i just want to take a moment to say thank you, for being my friends and for keeping in touch as best as we can when the lines of communication are so hard to get to.

Filter question

with permission from my big daddy:

he's curious to know what people would think about having a filter for unorthodox or unusual pairings that would actually work well. as it is, if you search for something... say, inu/sess, you're more than likely going to get more results that deal with them together, but not in the way you like. it'll be sesshoumaru as the seme. because people seem to have a hard time writing inuyasha as a seme to his older brother. *rolls eyes* whatever. come on people... it's called a switch! anyhow... he's curious to know if people would support getting a new filter search for the site...

and yeah, i'm kind of curious to know too...

okay, so a lot of you know that i tend to enjoy the unorthodox roles. inuxsessh, sasuita, duoxheero, duo/wufei, etc. its not that i dont enjoy the regular roles, but as a total switch, i like finding fics/art with the roles reversed.

so i have a quick question for you all.

do you have any idea how hard it is to find sasuita or inuxsessh?? using search engines is tedious and only retrieves about 10% of whats out there. its very unlikely to pick up anything from YG.

so im wondering how many people have also been dying for the ability to search by role as well as character. i realize it would be a bit of a drag at first, since one would have to go back through and specify, but (if the site has been coded efficiently) one should be able to disable to code that reposts things after theyve been edited, eliminating the spammage. perhaqps im the only one who has gone through it in their head at a coding level, but ive overhauled my own programs before, after 20,000 lines or more, so it doest seem too particularly unreasonable to me.
